Bendigo Community Telco is built up of a diverse team, drawn together from a wide range of industries. Together, our team brings specialist knowledge and experience, and truly realises Bendigo Community Telco's charter by representing the many different aspects of our community.
Management team

Philip Lazenby
Position: Chief Executive Officer
History: Philip says, "I am very proud to be part of the Bendigo Community Telco team as we continue to strive to be more than just another telecommunications company. Owning our own data network and data centre provides us with the ability to tailor make business solutions for our customers. We employ many specialist technical staff who get to know our customers business intimately. Bendigo Community Telco is a listed company and pays a commercial and community dividend.
Philip is a Licensed Estate Agent who has fourteen years working in the real estate industry, sixteen years experience in banking and finance and has been our CEO since October 2007.
Philip was a director of the family real estate business Lazenby's Real Estate, which he and his father Jack founded in 1977. He has been part of Lead On since it started in 1999. Lead On is a community organisation aimed at strengthening relationships between youth and businesses. Philip also held several management positions within the credit union and banking industry, such as Manager of Business Development at Regional One Credit Union (now Merged with MECU), Pricing and Product Manager and then Group Sales Manager at Bendigo Bank.
He sees his career highlights as conducting over 500 public auctions during his real estate career and introducing Bendigo Community Telco’s 8 Star Service Charter, which ensures customers receive the highest level of service available in the telecommunication industry. Other highlights were being part of the team that converted the Bendigo Building Society to a Bank and being lucky enough to have Rob Hunt, the past CEO & MD of Bendigo and Adelaide Bank and current Chairman of Bendigo Community Telco, as his mentor.
Peter Bowman
Position: General Manager, Finance
History: Peter has 18 years experience in accounting and finance positions with local organisations including Bendigo Bank, North Central Catchment Management Authority and RegionalOne Credit Union. He was an integral part of the senior management team at RegionalOne for over eight years and played a key role in the success of the credit union over that period.
Peter completed his Bachelor of Business at La Trobe University, Bendigo in 1990 and successfully obtained his CPA qualification a few years later. He has lived in the Bendigo region for most of his life and is proud to be part of a local company that has such a big focus on not only providing a great service but also in supporting its community.
Wayne Williams 
Position: General Manager, Operations
History: Wayne says, working for a local company that is focused on both business and community outcomes is something that I am very proud of. I gratefully accepted the opportunity to work with Bendigo CommunityTelco in 2004 and have been involved with helping many local businesses achieve their desired telecommunication solutions. By doing this I have also been lucky enough to have helped with many community outcomes that have benefited our region.
Wayne commenced his employment as sales manager and in 2007 was soon promoted to General Manager of Business Development. In early 2010 Wayne was given the role of General Manager Operations which encompasses the general day to day running of the business as well as sales, marketing and customer and community engagement initiatives.
Wayne says, having worked in large multinational companies, it is great to be able to work locally on community outcomes. Wayne is an active member of the Bendigo community as President of the Bendigo Junior Football league and also is on the advisory board of the Bendigo Volunteer Resource Centre.
Bryan Pedersen 
Position: General Manager, Technology
History: Bryan has worked in varying roles including IT manager for several organisations and system engineer for a national company. Recently Bryan worked as a teacher and also in a business development role at BRIT.
Bryan has also worked in software development within an engineering context. With additional background in Cisco networking, Microsoft systems and data centre design, Bryan brings significant experience to his position.
